We at Eder, Casella & Co. believe that it is important to give back to our surrounding communities. While our employees and accountants regularly volunteer at various organizations throughout the year and we have quite a few active Rotary members on staff, we always select a few local organizations and make charity a company event! Click below to view some photos of our most recent efforts to support these great organizations. Contact the head of our Volunteer Committee if you have an event that you would like us to consider for our next community involvement project: firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the third year in a row, we have gladly helped sort and wrap gifts with the good folks at the McHenry Sunrise Rotary. A perennial favorite because nothing brings warmth during the cold December days like donning your best "ugly Christmas sweater" and wrapping gifts for kids and ensuring that their holiday season is merry and bright!
Everyone is Irish on Shamrock Shuffle Day! McHenry Kiwanis puts on this spirited 5K Run/Walk every March to help fund student scholarships. We'd like to say its all about helping the students, but the chance to dress in head-to-toe green is always a draw for us!
We're big supporters of our local Rotary International clubs here at Eder, Casella & Co. The organizations do such great work for their communities -- which is why we continue to link up with the Rotary Club of Woodstock and participate in their annual Woodstock Christmas Clearing House. When there are boxes of food that need packing for those in need, we're glad to pitch in and help!
Another perennial favorite is the infamous Barndance given every year by the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation. What's better than helping put on an event that benefits cancer awareness, research, and care for local residents than serving up food and beverages while listening to live music and watching the attendees have a blast?
The Human Race in McHenry is another one of our favorites. We whole-heartedly believe in the amazing work that the folks at Turning Point do for those who have suffered domestic violence. As such, we were happy to load up our families and lace up our runing shoes to raise money so that the programs that this great organization offers can continue and flourish.
This was our first year to help prepare food packs for the world's hungry. No child should have to suffer from the pangs of hunger, and this amazing organization has designed packets of rice, soy, and vitamins to help feed children in third-world countries. While it was our first time volunteering here, we're sure it will not be our last!
Because blood cannot be manufactured, area hospitals rely on blood provided by organizations like Heartland Blood Centers for this life-saving component. We were glad to host a blood drive for both our employees and the community with this great non-profit organization. Not only did our employees staff the check-in table, but we also were happy to donate as well! Don't worry, we left the needlework to the phlebotomists.
We are so proud to be supporters of these other amazing organizations:
