LISA DANHAUER, CPA
When asked what she’d be doing if she hadn’t gone into accounting, Lisa Danhauer has an apt answer. “I’d be a detective,” she admits.
Perhaps she is living out that dream in a matter of speaking already, considering that seeking out answers to often complicated financial questions is at the heart of accounting. “Accounting is somewhat like a puzzle and you’re trying to find where each of the missing pieces fit,” she says.
Danhauer, who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Valparaiso University, started at Eder Casella & Co. as an intern in the summer of 2016 before coming aboard in a permanent position. Her demeanor instantly won her respect among her teammates. “Lisa is positive and pleasant, and her calm nature is a big asset when working with clients to help them through difficult situations,” says managing partner Shelly Casella-Dercole.
In turn, the Barrington High School grad has appreciated the environment of the firm. “I really enjoy the people at Eder, Casella & Co. They’re all personable and easy to get along with,” she explains. “I also like that each day brings something different — in this career, you’re not just doing the same thing day in and day out. Every day is interesting.”
